The area of goods handling is becoming increasingly important across a variety of industries. Speed and efficiency are among the popular buzzwords that currently occupy the minds of our customers. New and improved technology is needed to withstand the high competitive pressure – and this is what we help our customers develop here at Polygon.
Polygon’s experience in this segment extends all the way back to 2002, when we joined with SSI SCHÄFER NOELL GmbH and the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics to develop Tower24, a special goods handling module. This know-how came in useful roughly 10 years later, when we cooperated with DHL to develop the next generation DHL Packstation. Packstation, a package deposit and retrieval system that has become almost indispensable for many people, enabled customers to send and pick up consignments round-the-clock, revolutionising the world of parcel delivery. The parcel box Paketkasten is another major cooperation product between DHL and Polygon; it takes the Packstation success story one step further and allows customers to equip their own homes with the convenient parcel deposit and delivery system.
Goods handling modules, installed in urban settings above all, will help customers send and retrieve goods unfettered by particular opening times. Attractive, unpretentious designs, alongside fail-safe and user-friendly functions, are the most eye-catching features of our modules. We develop our systems individually to meet specific needs. And no matter how complex the project may appear, we will always find a perfectly tailored solution!
But our experience in the field of goods handling is not restricted to the home stretch or the consumer sector. Polygon also cooperated with the firm CareFusion Rowa to develop a fully-automatic conveyor warehouse. Its versatile design accommodates a broad range of product storage and handling requirements and locations, for instance in pharmacies.
The trendsetting systems for the e-business and mail order sectors are fully automatic and fitted with electronic controls that the customer will certainly find easy to operate. Our modules come with the latest technical features. For instance, they use NFC or Bluetooth technology to open and close the parcel boxes. Additionally, we show our true expertise in the field of in-house development to offer you truly individual solutions.
