Polygon developed a cash handling system on behalf of a high-profile customer to simplify the exacting process of banknote recycling.
The banknote sorting machine identifies the bills and deposits them at top speed into the corresponding predetermined cash boxes. During this process, the bills travel along automatic routes. The system is equally quick to recognise defective bills, redirecting them to special recyclers.
All of the sophisticated technical equipment used in the cash unit were developed in-house at Polygon, and a patent has been registered. The prototype from the Polygon drawing board was so convincing that the technology was further developed until it was ready for series production.
Cash recycling systems analyse and clear deposited banknotes, subsequently placing them in special recyclers. These banknotes can then be dispensed in the very next transaction.
