In recent years we have developed a variety of products in the cool box segment for IPV. Now the RollBar has been added to this selection – a rolling cool box and electric fridge in one.
The RollBar E50 comes with a cooler capacity of 50 litres. It is also light as a feather thanks to the polypropylene foam (EPP). Even without power supply it delivers up to six hours of active refrigeration, and is the perfect accessory for gardens, patios, caravans, camping, offices and much more.
Polygon exploited everything the material had to offer in developing the RollBar. Mechanical functions, insulation of the interior, accommodation of a battery power pack and the electronics themselves were designed using nothing other than this one material. The generously sized wheels and their axles are also made of EPP, a unique feature in this segment. In total the RollBar consists of 11 individual EPP components. It truly is a 'masterpiece', even by the standards of the manufacturer Storopack.
The challenge involved in developing an electric cool box was to design a product that created a harmonious relationship between its emotional look and feel and the technical and commercial requirements, while at the same time adhering to the tightly defined specifications in terms of capacity, limited package size and stacking properties.
Despite wavering from the theoretically ideal spatial exploitation by a mere 2 % or so, the cool box's dynamic lines and tight surfaces lend it a clearly distinct appearance compared with the standard rectangular and cubic forms that otherwise dominate the market today.
The tray, lid and handle elements are no longer loose appendages, and instead seem sculpted from one homogeneous piece.
