Polygon designed and engineered the new GALERIA kiosk terminal (on the left side of the photo) that will replace the current multimedia terminals at GALERIA Kaufhof GmbH. The terminals specialist Polygon has also signed a deal to provide production and servicing. Polygon was also behind the design of the GALERIA kiosk terminal currently in use. The system received the 2003 German Multimedia Award as the Best Overall Kiosk Solution in the Kiosk Systems/Terminals Category. And the solution continues to prove its worth.
The outward appearance of the new GALERIA terminal is quite similar to its predecessor in form and colour to ensure it remains recognisable for customers. But there is no doubt that this a refined product: the most distinctive feature is its integration of a large, backlit eye-catcher with interchangeable motifs, which makes the terminal taller and signals to customers the service applications on offer here, even at a substantial distance. At the moment these include: gift vouchers, Payback and motion analyses for running shoes.
The GALERIA kiosk terminal is equipped with a 22“ TFT display that all customer groups will find easy to operate intuitively. Other components are the card reader, the scanner, laser and thermal printer, also a stainless steel keypad that can be folded out and tucked back in as required. The GALERIA kiosk terminal comes with an ergonomic and barrier-free arrangement; it is easy to service as required and offers convenient access to all components.
Over 350 systems have been delivered so far.
