The new Fraport information kiosks are in operation in Terminals 1 and 2 at Frankfurt Airport. Passengers use the kiosk's barcode scanner to scan their boarding cards and receive up-to-the-minute information on their flights, for instance short-notice changes in the departure gate or the current departure time.
Fraport AG selected a modified basic terminal by Polygon for its new kiosk system. A large touchscreen is used to operate the s-module; combined with Polygon's Virtual Height Adjustment it enables individual positioning of the operating area and hence permits wheelchair users and children, also very tall or short adults, to benefit from this unique ergonomic feature. A stainless steel impact shield was added to the devices along with a backlit eye-catcher to enhance long-range visibility and a telephone option to contact customer service.
In this project, Polygon dealt with design, engineering and manufacture of the new information kiosks and to this day continues to provide services.
In total, 109 systems for passengers at Terminals 1 and 2 in Frankfurt Airport had been put into operation by the first quarter of 2013.
