Polygon has truly come into its own in developing a punch and bind device family across the entire product spectrum, from low-cost to high end. The most striking feature of the binding devices is their consistent, functional design. The innovative mechanical concept with radial blades has also been patented.
An ergonomic concept developed specially for this purpose guides users through the individual stages of operation. The first step is to insert a document for binding into the punch and bind machine; the device then identifies how thick a spine the binding requires. The spine binder then opens, the portions of paper are holed and the prepared paper is finally inserted into the spine.
Another special factor in this project involved supervising the entire tool construction process for all required components (plastic injection moulding, precision-stamping the knives and matrices, aluminium die casting, and press-bent parts).
