The POI (Point of Information) is already the second generation of terminals that Polygon designed for Autostadt, marking a continuation of the successful cooperation between Autostadt and Polygon in the field of terminals that started in 2000 with the development and production of the predecessor model, a kinetic information lollipop.
The most distinctive feature of the predecessor model was its capacity for autonomous movement. The new terminal blends elegant transparency with state of the art projective-capacitive technology, enabling operation through the glass. The glass front, which extends all the way across, is the supporting element in the design. It also reflects the architectural style of the surrounding environment and hence ensures that the terminals fit seamlessly into the overall layout of the park.
The glass terminal won the 2008 iF Award for Product Design.
