Polygon has been owner-run since its inception in 1992. Michael Reuter and Erwin Müller – two business-minded visionaries with big hearts and sharp brains – hold the reins at the company. Flat hierarchies, an absence of red tape and direct communication channels from person to person – Polygon upholds all of these principles. Our HR planning is long-term, and we are concerned to provide employee welfare and job security. For instance, Polygon has on its books two employees with severe disabilities and hence exceeds by far the requirements defined under law.
Michael Reuter, Executive Director:
"It is a meeting of equals here at Polygon. We know what we are capable of, but we conduct ourselves with businesslike modesty. We do not reward hubris or arrogance. This certainty spreads among everyone we deal with, creating a harmonious atmosphere and a community of trust. Everyone enjoys working in this kind of environment.
We pay more than just lip service to sensitive questions facing our society, also environmental concerns. Instead we fill these commitments with life. For instance, we are regular donors to social and charitable organisations such as children's homes or the organisation Médicins sans Frontières. We have a particularly big heart for children. Among others, we donate money to provide primary schools with proper materials to teach children first aid in a manner that suits their needs. Some years ago we also introduced a policy of not sending Christmas greetings by post. Instead we use the money we save to make financial or material donations to local facilities such as schools and clubs.
Environmental aspects are always right at the heart of operating procedures here at Polygon. We uphold a philosophy of sustainability, operate sustainably and provide sustainable advice. We are concerned to ensure that the products we develop do not harm the environment, and not just to deliver outstanding looks, ergonomics and function at an attractive price.
