Thus constantly improving the quality and efficiency of our processes and optimizing the cooperation processes of our interdisciplinary teams. Our goal is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations, improve the quality of our products and services and ultimately increase customer satisfaction.
World's first fully automated airborne goods-handover system: Polygon and DHL developed the goods transfer station Parcelcopter SkyPort. For the first time the complete process of sending, storage and delivery of packages from the end customer to the package drones and in reverse can be made fully automated.
Polygon receives "Top 100"-label: On the 26th of june Polygon was honoured at the German medium-sized enterprises-summit as one of the most innovative companies in the German "Mittelstand".
New development- and manufactoring center: We are expanding our value chain and building our own development, manufacturing and rollout center. All competences "around the product" are bundled in one place. We are now able to assemble products in the built-to-order process in a precise manner, deliver and set them up.
Holistic checkout concept: As a full-service provider, Polygon combines the know-how of furniture builders and hardware suppliers. This allows us to offer our customers not only innovative concepts for cash desk systems but also individual and flexible designs for the entire checkout area.
Revolutionary parcel delivery: Polygon introduces the new parcel boxes "Paketkasten" for DHL.
Thanks to a large number of orders we now have more than 40 full-time employees.
We launch our own services division to look after After-Sales Service for rollout and service. This allows us to support customers by completing a project in our own name from the stage of product development to series production and on to the services required beyond.
Market launch of our in-house development, the PPU – paper processing unit for employee terminals (ESS kiosks). It allows employees at customer firms who do not have their own computer workstation to independently manage administrative HR concerns at any time. These include holiday applications, accessing the Intranet, printing out slips, internal job applications or payslip printouts. Our employee terminals are perfectly equipped for all these tasks and to this day remain the only certified document security solution available on the market.
Repeat order from dm drugstores to develop and produce a new generation of service points for rollout throughout Europe. This is the first time the Virtual Height Adjustment features in combination with a full HD 32“ display and dual-touch.
A product developed by Polygon receives the prestigious Red Dot Award .
We develop the "Design Your Own" kiosk project on behalf of a multinational tobacco group. Set up at temporary events, the kiosks invite people to design and print two-sided cigarette packs.
Operating as general contractor, we are responsible for all sub-projects from the development of a new frontend software and the middleware, also the creation of a special printer and housing and even series production. This is the first time that we have shouldered the responsibility for a rollout in over 40 countries worldwide, also service and support.
The systems are used successfully to this day.
Revamp of our web presentation to focus on new customised developments; also a relocation with our 25-strong workforce to our own new company building in Obertshausen, with conference rooms, a showroom and workshop.
This is the first time we are tasked with developing a complex medical system, a job we complete for, and in cooperation with, Schwind eye-tech solutions, culminating in the production of the Amaris eye laser. It brings home several awards.
We develop and produce the first loyalty terminal on behalf of dm drugstores. Its rollout follows in over 2,000 branches the following year.
Our team continues to grow, passing the 20-employee threshold for the first time.

The Chamber of Industry and Commerce honours Polygon with its Innovation Award for its trendsetting business and HR concept.
We successfully complete our first move from Offenbach to larger premises in Heusenstamm.
We develop our first interactive kiosk terminal, the Exposer. It is exhibited at the Mac-World, where it is thronged by visitors and warmly received. A new industry emerges, and we decide to become manufacturers of terminals.
We develop an ultrasound cleaning system for oil filters, our first joint order for combined design and engineering. BDI – the Voice of German Industry – recognises the achievement with the 1998 Environmental Award.
It all started with the Polygon idea:
